Born and bred in South Australia, Lucy attended Scotch College Adelaide on a Performing Arts scholarship.
Upon graduating, Lucy attended Dance World Studios in Melbourne to obtain an Advanced Diploma in Musical Theatre & Dance. Between 2012-2014 Lucy was a Co-Director of the National Institute of Performing Arts in Melbourne and managed NIPA’s Professional Performance Team.
Lucy’s passion for technique training lead her to begin Lucy Ellis Dance Coaching. She now travels all over the world training students in dance technique and performance. Lucy’s dance workshop program, which includes stretching, conditioning, technique and jazz combinations, has been presented in Australia, New Zealand, Asia, Europe and the United Kingdom to thousands of dancers.
Lucy is the co-owner of the dance technique syllabus, International Dance Technique, which has recently launched and is already used by over 100 studios worldwide. She also manages Elite Training Extension Program, a day program for dancers which is held in Sydney, Auckland, Perth, Adelaide and Gold Coast monthly.
Lucy’s production company Lucy-Rose Creates has produced three published dance books: Skillz Practice Guide, Goalz Dance Journal and Lucy’s Dancing Dreamz. In 2019, Lucy-Rose Creates is launching a touring children’s show titled Lucy’s Search For Starz.
Some of Lucy’s professional theatre credits include Sydney Theatre Company’s touring production of The Herbal Bed, Farther Bob Maguire’s Once Upon a Pantomime, The Young Stars Circus (Singapore Season), Victorian Opera’s West Side Story workshop, State Opera of South Australia’s Turandot and the Adelaide season of Windmill Children’s Theatre Company’s production
Other performance highlights include dancing at the T20 Big Bash Cricket season and making it to the semi-finals of Australia’s Got Talent.
Lucy has a passion for choreographing and has established herself as a choreographer for events around Australia. Some of her choreographic credits include: Ding Productions Corporate Entertainment, the Salvation Army’s Our Christmas Gift concert at the Melbourne Arts Centre, Lululemon Athletica promotion, Queensland Hornets Grand Final Entertainment, Ultimate Dance Cause, Dance Cancer Initiative, Pop Up Events New Year’s Eve Ball, Peter Combe’s Melbourne concert and Circobat’s Grandma’s Dream Garden Circus. Lucy also choreographs award winning competition routines for dance studios and students all around Australia.
Kylie is an accomplished jazz, ballet, and tap dancer who is the principal of Norris Studios in Auckland, New Zealand. For the past twenty years Kylie has trained dancers to a competitive and professional level, with many going on to embark on international careers. Kylie is a sought after choreographer, with her own distinctive style. One piece that has been viewed all over the world, is her work titled ‘Origami.’ The routine has sparked articles to be written about it in Creme and NZ Life & Leisure magazine, has appeared on television shows Good Morning, and The 4.30 Show and was invited to compete in Americas Got Talent. The routine appeared as a dance feature in NZ’s Coca Cola Christmas in the Park to an audience of 200,000 people.
Kylie holds a teaching certificate with the NZAMD (New Zealand Association of Modern Dance) in which she gained one of the highest marks in the country.
When not training young dancers, Kylie has worked alongside the best professional cabaret entertainers in New Zealand as head costume designer and choreographer for corporate events, creating showgirl routines with her own unique style and edge.
In 2017, Kylie based herself in Australia and has travelled extensively teaching, choreographing and adjudicating throughout the country; as well as Hong Kong and the UK. This year she has developed the Elite Training Extension Program with Lucy Ellis. This dance program offers regular workshop classes to help dancers reach their full potential. The program has grown rapidly; already expanding to Adelaide, Perth and Auckland.
Belinda Moore is a movement coach, body conditioning specialist and performance industry veteran. She has worked throughout NZ, Australia and the United States for some of the biggest companies in entertainment globally including NBC Universal, Comcast and Disney, performed in events alongside Lorde, Kesha, Jamie Foxx, Jake Gyllenhaal, Halle Berry, Miss America, country music star Ty Herndon, Broadway superstar Linda Eder and the biggest global names in Dancesport and Ballroom Dance. She danced in the Emmy Award-winning Nashville Christmas Parade – nationally syndicated to millions of television viewers across America – Universal Studio’s Macys Christmas Parade, New Zealand Fashion Week, operas Carmen and La Traviata and tours with prestigious American swing bands The Glenn Miller Orchestra and The Tommy Dorsey Orchestra.
Belinda was a cheerleader for the All Blacks, Blues, Breakers, Warriors and the Black Caps, worked as a featured dancer in television series’ Legend Of The Seeker, When We Went To War, Maddigans Quest, Xena, This Is Not My Life and in the feature film The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe and was a founding dancer at Encore Cabaret under the choreography of Kylie Norris.
Belinda has worked as a stills and live model, acted in ad campaigns for Instant Kiwi and McDonalds, appeared in music videos for Elemno P and Dei Hamo and directed, produced, choreographed and danced in ‘Bound’ at the 2013 Auckland Fringe Festival.
Prior to dancing, Belinda competed in rhythmic gymnastics for 11 years, representing New Zealand throughout Europe, Australia, Asia and North America including the 1994 Commonwealth Games and the 1995 World Championships and was twice New Zealand National Champion.
Utilizing her extensive experience as a performer, Belinda wrote the BodyLab program to give dancers the vital tools to be stronger and more versatile performers.
Alongside coaching movement and conditioning, Belinda continues to work as a freelance dancer and performer at the age of 41 and attributes her success and career longevity to the regular conditioning work she does, which forms the basis of the BodyLab program.
